Job Description - Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewand analyze tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract conditions.
  • Prepare   accurate  quantity   take-offs   from  construction   drawings   and  project specifications.
  • Develop  comprehensive Bills  of Quantities (BOQ)  in  accordance with  project requirements and industry standards.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers andsubcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical andcommercial tender submissions.
  • Perform cost analysis, cost comparisons, andvalue engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Identify commercial and  contractual risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, andregulatory requirements throughout the tendering process.
  • Attend pre-tender, tender clarification, andpost-tender meetings as required.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, materialprice lists, subcontractorrecords, and current market rates.
  • Collaborate closely with design, planning,procurement, and project management teams to ensure accuratecost planning and successful project delivery.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budget reports, andtender evaluation documents.
  • Support project cost control and monitor budgetperformance during project execution when required.
  • Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, ConstructionManagement, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or tenderingwithin the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with local construction regulations, standard forms ofcontract, and industry practices.
  • Key Skills and Competencies
  • Strong proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, budgeting, andtendering procedures.
  • Sound knowledge ofconstruction methods, materials, contracts, and procurement practices.
  • Excellent analytical,numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy andattention to detail.
  • Strong communication,negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independentlywhile managing multiple tenders and deadlines.
  • Proficiency  in Microsoft  Excel,  AutoCAD,  and  Quantity  Surveying/estimating software.
  • Ability to workcollaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
