Job Description - QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs, prepare tender documents, administer contracts, and ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents to support project bidding and budgeting
  • Evaluate quotations and negotiate terms with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project costs
  • Prepare and assess subcontract agreements and contracts to ensure compliance and clarity
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and variations to maintain financial control throughout project lifecycle
  • Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, and final accounts to facilitate accurate financial reporting
  • Conduct site measurements and valuation of completed work to verify project progress and payments
  • Assist in procurement of materials and subcontractors to support timely project execution
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures to mitigate risks
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to coordinate project activities and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and cost records to support audit and reporting requirements

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Good knowledge of construction contracts, tendering processes, and cost control methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and quantity surveying software to perform cost analysis and documentation
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate costs and negotiate effectively with stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with diverse project teams and clients
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple project tasks efficiently
  • Available immediately

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in commercial Additions & Alterations (A&A) and Fit-out Works tender projects
  • Familiarity with Singapore construction standards and contract administration practices
