Quantity Surveyor (Construction, West/Up to 5K)

Monday to Friday: 08.30am – 5.30pm

Job Scope Overview:

The Quantity Surveyor oversees the fiscal and contractual health of projects in the company. In this role, you will monitor project budgets, administer contracts, and accurately forecast material and labour expenditures to ensure that projects maintain profitability and are successfully delivered within budgetary limits.

Responsibilities

• Analyse engineering blueprints, conduct quantity take-offs, and develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil infrastructure developments.
• Oversee all contract-related financial matters, including the administration of progress claims, variation orders, and final account settlements.
• Monitor modifications in design, update budget forecasts accordingly, and direct all contract cost reporting to maintain strict financial control over the project.
• Handle subcontractor quotations, process payments, and evaluate any variation orders.
• Formulate interim valuations and monthly claims, ensuring the prompt submission of all variation requests and cost recoveries.
• Pinpoint areas for budget optimization without sacrificing quality benchmarks or project deliverables.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically on earthworks, and civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to rapidly analyse and distil complex problems.
• Dependable, proactive, highly detail-oriented, and adept at finding solutions.
