Job Summary

The Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural) will lead site supervision, quality assurance, and coordination of civil and structural works on Jurong Island, ensuring compliance, resolving technical issues, and reporting progress to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist QP(S) by coordinating and supervising daily civil and structural site works, including building works and site investigations
• Lead and monitor Registered Technical Officers (RTOs) on site to ensure adherence to project standards
• Conduct consistent quality assurance inspections and testing to verify compliance with specifications
• Attend site meetings and resolve technical issues collaboratively with contractors to maintain project progress
• Maintain accurate quality records and monitor work progress for timely reporting
• Review and provide detailed comments on contractor submissions to ensure technical accuracy
• Verify and approve contractor reports, variations, progress claims, and as-built quantities for variations
• Prepare and submit comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports to stakeholders
• Perform additional duties related to project requirements as assigned by the Engineer
• Execute other Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural) scope-related tasks as industry standards dictate

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Registration as Resident Engineer (C&S) with the Joint Accreditation Committee of the Institution of Engineers Singapore / Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Resident Engineer in civil and structural works for building projects

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Familiarity with steel structure and piling inspection, piling load tests, and excavation works
• Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated by making quick, informed decisions in site management
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
