Job Summary

Supervise and inspect architectural works on-site to ensure compliance with building regulations, contract specifications, and design intent, supporting architects and coordinating with project stakeholders for quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction works to ensure compliance with the Building Control Act, Regulations, and approved plans
• Ensure works are executed according to contract requirements and project specifications
• Assist the Resident Architect in on-site supervision and inspection of architectural works
• Verify contractors’ compliance with material and workmanship specifications through sample tests and inspections
• Identify faulty workmanship or materials and issue instructions for rectification
• Check construction line, level, layout, and adherence to contract drawings during construction
• Inspect structural slab, beam, and column sizes and reinforcement placement to confirm design intent is followed
• Maintain accurate records of measurements and tests, ensuring plans reflect actual work executed
• Issue instructions and clarifications as needed, coordinating with Architects/Engineers for formal instructions or clarifications
• Support site organization and task allocation under Architect’s direction, coordinating with M&E and structural teams affecting architectural and interior design works
• Participate in client and consultant site and technical meetings as requested
• Review and approve inspection forms and quality-related documentation including dry-lays, trade demonstrations, method statements, mock-ups, defect inspections, rectifications, and client handover
• Inspect architectural and interior design works to ensure design intent is maintained and report any conflicts, quality variations, or unauthorized works to the Architect

Required competencies and certifications

• Accredited as a Resident Technical Officer with IES/ACES
• Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in RTO in Soil Investigation
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
