Job Description - Sales Manager (Design & Build)

Our client is a well-established design and build specialist with a strong reputation for delivering creative, high-quality turnkey solutions across exhibitions, events, retail environments, experiential activations, and interior fit-out projects. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive business development and play a key role in shaping the company's continued success.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new business opportunities across exhibitions, events, retail fit-out, experiential marketing, and related industries.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and strategic partners.
  • Managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, proposal development, presentations, negotiations, and contract closure.
  • Preparing competitive proposals and collaborating with internal design and project teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
  • Translating client requirements into clear project briefs to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Managing RFQs, tenders, and client enquiries in a timely and strategic manner.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the sales team to achieve individual and team revenue targets.
  • Monitoring sales performance, pipeline health, forecasting, and reporting to senior management.
  • Representing the business at networking events, industry exhibitions, and client meetings.
  • Driving continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM utilisation, and reporting systems.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of business development experience, ideally within the design & build, exhibitions, events, retail fit-out, or brand activation industry.
  • Demonstrated success in securing high-value projects and consistently achieving sales targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop strategic sales plans.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of project delivery, costing, budgeting, and margin optimisation.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of design development, fabrication, and production processes is highly desirable.
