Job Description - Senior Project Manager

Job Role:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and successful delivery of large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.

The role is accountable for achieving project objectives across Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SEQDC) while ensuring compliance with contractual, statutory, regulatory, and company requirements.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction to project teams, drive project performance, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of project execution throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery against project objectives and SEQDC targets.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies, construction methodologies, resource plans, and delivery programmes.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and contractual obligations are achieved.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, environmental requirements, company EHS policies, and project-specific plans.
  • Oversee quality management processes to ensure works are executed in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, and client expectations.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, procurement, cost control, contract administration, variation management, and commercial risks.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, authorities, utility agencies, and senior management.
  • Ensure all statutory approvals, permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements are obtained and maintained to support project delivery.
  • Provide regular project reporting on safety, quality, programme, cost, risks, and overall project performance.
  • Lead project commissioning, handover, defect management, and closeout activities.
  • Support business development, tender reviews, and pre-construction planning activities where required.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15–20 years of relevant construction industry experience, including at least 10 years in project management and senior leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering at least two construction projects with individual contract values exceeding S$300 million.
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale building, mixed-use, institutional, healthcare, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project controls, risk management, contract administration, procurement, and cost management.
  • Proven capability in driving project performance across Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SEQDC) objectives.
  • Sound understanding of Singapore construction regulations, authority requirements, statutory approval processes, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
