Senior Project Manager Lead

The HVAC Senior Project Manager Lead will be responsible for the overall management, performance, and delivery of a portfolio of HVAC projects within the Marine & Offshore sector. He/she will lead and supervise a team of Project Managers, ensuring consistency in execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction across all projects.

As a Senior Project Manager Lead, you will remain operationally involved by directly managing one or two strategic projects, typically complex or high-value contracts and report to the Head of Technical Department and works in close coordination with the Head of Engineering, who is fully responsible for engineering activities. The role does not include direct management of HVAC Design Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Portfolio Management

• Oversee a portfolio of HVAC projects from contract award to final handover.
• Ensure all projects are delivered in line with schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor project performance through KPIs, forecasts, and reporting.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure consistency in project execution methods and standards.

2. Leadership of Project Managers

• Lead, mentor, and supervise Project Managers.
• Support decision-making and provide guidance on technical, operational, and contractual matters.
• Ensure alignment between project execution and company strategy.
• Develop team capabilities and foster a high-performance culture.

3. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as senior escalation points for key clients, shipyards, and partners.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure long-term satisfaction.
• Support critical negotiations and executive-level meetings.
• Represent the company in strategic project discussions.

4. Financial & Contract Management

• Oversee project budgets, cost control, and overall profitability across all projects.
• Validate financial forecasts, cash flow, and project reporting.
• Lead complex contractual matters including:

-Variations and change orders

-Claims and dispute resolution

-Contract negotiations

5. Execution & Delivery Support

• Support Project Managers during critical execution phases:

-Installation

-Commissioning

-Sea trials / handover

• Ensure high standards of execution and client satisfaction across all projects.

6. Direct Project Management

• Act as Project Manager for one or two key projects.
• Ensure full delivery lifecycle: engineering coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Maintain accountability for project performance, margin, and client satisfaction.

7. Procurement & Supplier Strategy

• Lead procurement strategies.
• Participate in the selection of key suppliers and subcontractors.
• Lead negotiations for critical packages.
• Monitor suppliers & OEMs performance.

8. Technical Coordination

• Ensure effective coordination between Project Managers and the Head of Engineering,
• Validate that engineering deliverables meet project timelines and requirements.

Qualifications & skills

1. Educational Requirements

• Engineering degree (Mechanical / Thermal / Electrical or equivalent).

2. Experience

• Minimum 12–15 years of experience in HVAC project delivery.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager on complex projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing Project Managers or leading project teams.

3. Technical Skills

• Solid understanding of HVAC systems and full project lifecycle.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (AutoCAD is a plus).
• Strong capabilities in:

- Financial management (budget, margin, cash flow)

- Contract and claims management

- Risk management

4. Leadership & Communication Skills

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

6. Industry Background

Candidates must demonstrate strong experience in complex HVAC project delivery environments. Experience in the following industries will be considered:

• Marine & Offshore (preferred)
• Semiconductor / Cleanroom HVAC
• Industrial / Process HVAC
• Datacentre or critical environment projects
  

Candidates coming from Semiconductor or industrial environments must demonstrate:

• Experience with high-specification HVAC systems
• Exposure to complex project execution (EPC / turnkey)
• Strong understanding of quality, commissioning, and system performance requirements

Internal training and support will be provided to ensure smooth adaptation to Marine & Offshore standards.
