STEEL REINFORCEMENT WORKER

Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret reinforcement drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to guide rebar work
• Measure, cut, bend, and assemble steel reinforcement bars according to project specifications
• Install and secure reinforcing steel in concrete forms using wire ties, clips, and spacers to ensure structural integrity
• Position reinforcement cages, mesh, and bars to maintain proper concrete coverage
• Operate rebar cutting, bending, and tying equipment safely and efficiently on site
• Inspect reinforcement placement for compliance with engineering drawings and project standards
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and construction crews to complete tasks on schedule
• Load, unload, and transport reinforcement materials around the construction site safely
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area to support efficient operations
• Follow workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently
• Identify and report defects, material shortages, or installation issues promptly to supervisors
• Assist with concrete preparation and other construction tasks as needed to support project progress
• Perform quality checks to ensure reinforcement meets project specifications and building codes
• Work effectively in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when required

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum education: Primary/Secondary/"O" Level, Higher Secondary/College, Professional Certificate/Nitec in any field
• At least 1 year of working experience in a related field
