Supervisor (Scaffolding)

Responsibilities

• Supervise all scaffold erection, alteration, modification, inspection coordination, maintenance, and dismantling activities required to support maintenance, project, and A&A works within the data centre environment.
• Plan scaffold works in accordance with approved risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work requirements, and site-specific house rules, ensuring no scaffold activity commences without proper authorisation and control measures in place.
• Coordinate closely with data centre operations, facilities teams, EHS personnel, project teams, contractors, and end users to ensure scaffold works are safely executed without compromising live operations, critical equipment, fire protection systems, access routes, or emergency response readiness.
• Verify that scaffold materials, components, access arrangements, ties, guardrails, toe boards, platforms, ladders, and load controls are suitable, serviceable, and used correctly for the intended work scope.
• Supervise scaffolders onsite and ensure all personnel are trained, briefed, medically fit where required, and compliant with site access rules, PPE requirements, fall prevention measures, and safe work procedures.
• Conduct pre-work briefings and toolbox meetings, highlighting hazards such as work at height, dropped objects, overhead services, confined spaces, live equipment, restricted zones, and simultaneous operations inmission-critical areas.
• Ensure scaffold works comply with relevant Singapore statutory requirements, WSH expectations, client procedures, and the highest prevailing market standards for safety, housekeeping, and execution quality.
• Coordinate inspection and handover of completed scaffolds, ensure status tagging and records are properly maintained, and prevent use of any scaffold that is incomplete, unsafe, altered without approval, or otherwise not released for service.
• Monitor work progress, manpower deployment, material control, and site housekeeping, and ensure timely erection and dismantling in line with project and maintenance schedules.
• Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, delays, and material defects promptly, and implement immediate control measures to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain records of scaffold activities, permits, handover status, inspection checklists, manpower attendance, training records, and daily work progress.
• Support emergency response, incident investigation, and corrective action implementation for any scaffold-related or work-at-height-related event within the site.
  

Requirements

• Relevant scaffolding supervisory qualification recognized for work in Singapore, with practical experience supervising scaffolding works in construction, industrial, commercial, or critical facility environments.
• Experience in data centre or live operational facility environment will be a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of scaffold systems, erection sequences, load considerations, stability requirements, access arrangements, and work-at-height control measures.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, risk assessment, method statements, dropped object prevention, and coordination of scaffold activities in restricted or high-risk areas.
• Able to read scaffold plans, layout drawings, method statements, and site coordination requirements with strong attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety requirements, emergency response expectations, and safe segregation of scaffold works around live services and critical infrastructure.
• Certification in workplace safety (eg. WSQ, WSH) and relevant scaffolding supervisory training is required.
