Job Summary

Lead and manage all safety, health, environmental, and welfare aspects of projects to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and aerodrome safety standards, driving risk mitigation and promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety management to ensure project compliance with statutory safety, health, environmental, and welfare regulations and aerodrome safety standards
• Develop and enforce health, safety, and environmental controls to ensure all work follows established procedures and instructions
• Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders, authorities, agencies, and consultants to align safety practices and requirements
• Prepare and submit daily situation reports documenting safety status and issues
• Conduct daily health, safety, and environmental site inspections, document findings, and coordinate with Project Safety Team and contractors to resolve issues
• Perform thorough investigations of accidents and near-miss incidents, recording findings accurately on relevant forms
• Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment and adhere to all safety procedures on-site
• Implement and monitor safety measures in compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Safety Management System
• Identify and recommend areas requiring safety training or certification to meet legislative, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance standards

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 8 years of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) experience, including supervision of projects of similar scale and complexity, especially major building construction works
• Completed at least one project as lead safety manager
• Registered with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with at least 5 years of active practice
• Minimum 3 years managing a team of site safety personnel

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in cut and cover tunnels, deep excavation, foundation, and ground improvement works, preferably 5 years with developer or main contractor
• Prior exposure to airside environments and their safety requirements
• Degree in engineering and Workplace Safety and Health disciplines or related qualifications
