WORKPLACE SAFETY HEALTH OFFICER

To assist the occupier of the workplace or the person in charge of the workplace in identifying and assessing all foreseeable risks arising from the workplace or its work processes.

To recommend to the occupier of the workplace or the person in charge reasonably practicable measures to eliminate any foreseeable risks to any person working at the workplace or who may be affected by the workplace activities.

Where it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate the identified risks, to recommend:

(i) Reasonably practicable measures to minimize the risks; and

(ii) Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and other control measures to manage the risks effectively.

The WSH Officer shall also:

Coordinate and liaise with the Client's EHS Personnel on all matters relating to Workplace Safety, Health and Environment (EHS).

Submit a Monthly EHS Report to the Client's EHS Department, detailing EHS activities conducted during the month, including meetings, safety promotions, risk assessments, safe work procedures, inspections, training, and other relevant EHS activities.

Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and all applicable subsidiary legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and client safety requirements.

Monitor and promote safe work practices to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses.

Conduct regular workplace inspections and recommend corrective and preventive actions where necessary.

1. Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health.
2. Develop Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) Implementation Plan Certification.
3. bizSAFE Risk Management Course Certificate.
4. Environmental Control Officer (ECO) Certificate.

Preferred Additional Qualifications and Certifications

1. Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA).
2. Environmental Control Officer (ECO) Certificate.
3. Construction Safety Course for Project Managers.
4. Confined Space Assessor Course Certificate.
5. Internal Auditor Course Certificate.
6. Occupational First Aid Certificate.
