Job Description:
Senior Fire Safety Manager
· To oversee the general fire safety and the maintenance of firefighting facilities for the assigned property as well as planning and execution of fire emergency procedures for the occupants.
· To carry out routine inspection to exercise supervision over the maintenance of fire safety measures within the assigned property.
· To submit the annual report to the Fire Safety Bureau (FSB) for the renewal of fire certificate.
· To conduct monthly inspection and assist the Employer/Client to have an effective Fire Safety Management Programme for the assigned property.
· To assist in the preventive maintenance of all fire protection system provided in the assigned property is carried out by the vendors or their local agents.
· To ensure the occupants’ load of any part of any building does not exceed the capacity prescribed under the fire code.
· To check whether any fire hazard condition is found within the assigned property.
· To assist the Employer/Client to comply all fire safety requirements and provide emergency plan according to the Fire Safety Act.
· To assist the Employer/Client to ensure at all times that fire safety requirements contained in the fire emergency plan are complied with.
· To prepare and formulate a fire emergency plan for the assigned property and to assist the Employer/Client in organizing fire drill as regulated by the Fire Safety Act in order to ensure that all persons employed in or using the property or part thereof, are familiar with all means of escape in case of fire.
· To assist and train the site staff to co-ordinate and supervise the occupants in the property in firefighting and evacuation in the event of fire or other emergencies.
· To assist the Employer/Client to supervise and control the operation of fire command centre in the event of fire or other emergencies.
· To carry out such other duties as the Commissioner may require under Fire Safety Act.
WSHO
· The WSHO shall be competent in carrying out his duty of ensuring the safety and health of the persons employed on the contract as well as all SDC appointed sub- contractors and their workmen.
· The WSHO shall carry out his duties as stipulated in Workplace Safety & Health (General Provision) & Workplace Safety & Health (Workplace Safety & Health Officers) Regulations as well as the Workplace Safety & Health Act.
· The WSHO shall conduct regular safety and health committee meeting with the working team and lead a committee on incident management system with the safety professionals of the respective tenants of the Property.
· The WSHO shall also develop and plan the safety and health program for the Property, including training, tenant briefings, SOPs and etc.
· The WSHO shall be responsible for correct and safe practices and to inculcate safety awareness for all levels of workmen on Property. The WSHO shall develop a Safety Register and Risk Assessment file and ensure they are up kept and regularly updated. He shall prepare and submit to the SDC SO a monthly safety report based on the SDC SO’s requirements, and at the same time as the monthly progress report.
· The safety report shall contain the particulars stipulated in Workplace Safety & Health (General Provision) & Workplace Safety & Health (Workplace Safety & Health Officers) Regulations as well as the Workplace Safety & Health Act.
