We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and committed Academic Head to lead our academic operations, curriculum development initiatives, quality assurance processes, and academic staff management.
Position: Academic Head
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development
Lead the development of new academic programmes for registration and delivery.
Conduct curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement activities.
Coordinate, organise, and facilitate industry consultations to ensure programme relevance and quality.
Develop and maintain articulation pathways and collaborative partnerships with universities and educational institutions.
Academic Quality Assurance & Compliance
Monitor and review compliance with regulatory authorities, accreditation bodies, and external education partners.
Review and enhance Academic Policies, Systems, Regulations, and Procedures (APSR) related to academic operations.
Organise and conduct EduTrust and quality assurance training sessions for academic staff.
Serve as a member of the Academic and Examination Subcommittees.
Academic Staff Management
Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and development of academic staff.
Monitor, assess, and support the professional development of lecturers and trainers.
Conduct teaching observations and performance reviews to ensure teaching excellence.
Maximise utilisation of academic resources through effective teaching allocations and workforce planning.
Student Success & Academic Performance
Manage academic operations to achieve targeted student pass rates and learning outcomes.
Monitor student academic progress, development, retention, and satisfaction.
Promote a student-centred learning environment through engagement initiatives and activities.
Address academic concerns proactively while minimising student complaints.
Achieve targeted scores in student satisfaction and graduation surveys.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence.
Encourage staff participation in process improvement initiatives.
Contribute to institutional growth through effective academic leadership and operational excellence.
Requirements
Qualifications
PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in Business Management, Education, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
Significant academic leadership experience in a Private Education Institution (PEI), higher education institution, or equivalent educational setting.
Proven experience in curriculum development, programme accreditation, and quality assurance.
Strong understanding of Singapore's Private Education sector, including regulatory requirements and quality frameworks.
Experience in managing academic staff and driving student success outcomes.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and academic management systems.
Strong understanding of EduTrust, academic governance, and quality assurance processes.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Additional Requirements
Meets the minimum requirements for teaching staff as stipulated by the relevant Singapore regulatory authorities.
Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to academic excellence.
Strong customer service orientation with a focus on student success.
