Job Summary

The Bar Manager oversees daily bar operations to deliver exceptional guest service, optimize staff performance, control inventory, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. This role combines leadership, operational management, and hands-on service to maintain a high-quality bar experience.

Responsibilities

Operations & Service

• Manage daily bar operations to maintain high service standards and consistent beverage quality
• Lead bar shifts to ensure smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction
• Address guest feedback, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally

Staff Management

• Supervise and motivate bartenders and bar support staff to achieve performance goals
• Conduct staff training, onboarding, and monitor performance to enhance team capabilities
• Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage and operational efficiency
• Foster teamwork and maintain a positive, inclusive work environment

Inventory & Cost Control

• Conduct inventory counts and manage ordering and stock rotation to maintain supply levels
• Monitor product usage to reduce waste and spoilage, supporting cost-control measures
• Assist in implementing initiatives to achieve profitability targets

Compliance & Safety

• Enforce compliance with alcohol licensing laws and age-verification policies to ensure legal operation
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards behind the bar to meet health regulations
• Uphold workplace health, safety, and regulatory standards consistently

Administrative Support

• Prepare and assist with sales, inventory, and incident reporting for management review
• Support promotional activities, special events, and new menu planning to enhance bar offerings
• Coordinate with management and other departments to align bar operations with overall business goals

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience working in high-volume bars, restaurants, or hospitality venues
• Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management software
