Job Description - CHEF

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of dishes according to menu requirements and quality standards.
  • Create and develop new recipes, menus, and food concepts.
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen assistants.
  • Ensure all food is prepared with high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Implement HACCP procedures and maintain proper food handling practices.
  • Manage kitchen operations during service periods to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Train, guide, and evaluate kitchen team members.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure staff follow kitchen procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and control food costs through effective stock management.
  • Order, inspect, and properly store ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Minimize food waste through proper planning and portion control.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the kitchen area.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used correctly and maintained properly.
  • Work closely with management to improve menu quality and kitchen efficiency.
  • Handle customer feedback related to food quality and make improvements when needed.
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field preferred.
  • Several years of professional cooking experience, with leadership experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and menu planning.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
