Cook

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and kitchen standards while ensuring quality, safety, cleanliness, and timely service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and menu requirements.
• Perform food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, chopping, seasoning, and portioning ingredients.
• Ensure all dishes are cooked properly and meet quality and presentation standards.
• Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before cooking.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, kitchen area, and cooking equipment.
• Store food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
• Monitor food temperatures and cooking times to ensure safety and quality.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food supplies.
• Minimize food waste through proper handling and portion control.
• Support senior cooks and chefs during food preparation and service.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues.
• Follow daily kitchen schedules and instructions from supervisors.
• Assist with cleaning duties, including utensils, equipment, and work areas.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with kitchen team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cooking methods and food preparation techniques.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
