Job Description - Director, Talent Acquisition — APAC

Stagwell does recruiting differently — and we're evolving it even further. 

As we scale globally, we are building a central Talent Acquisition team at the Stagwell level to support recruiting needs across the global segments. This model expands reach, deepens expertise, and enables fast, flexible support for our agencies where it matters most: finding and hiring exceptional talent. 

The Director, Talent Acquisition — APAC is the regional recruiting lead across Asia-Pacific. This role carries both strategic and operational ownership of the region's recruiting function — setting direction, leading a team, and serving as the senior recruiting partner to agency and segment leadership across APAC markets. You will report into the Vice President, Global Recruitment, Media & Commerce and partner closely with peer regional leads, segment recruiting leads and central TA colleagues globally. 

Success in this position requires the ability to operate as both a regional leader and a hands-on recruiter— setting the recruiting strategy for APAC, developing and managing a team, advising executives on talent strategy, and personally owning high-impact searches as the market requires. 

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a modern, scalable recruiting function across one of Stagwell's fastest-growing regions. Responsibilities 

Regional Recruiting Leadership & Talent Ownership 

  • Serve as the regional recruiting lead across APAC, owning end-to-end recruitment delivery, team leadership, and accountability for hiring outcomes across the region 

  • Build, lead, and develop a team of recruiters across APAC markets, setting clear expectations, performance standards, and a culture of excellence 

  • Provide segment-level recruiting support across Media and Commerce and other agencies as needed, including direct ownership of high-priority, hard-to-fill, or executive-level searches 

  • Build, maintain, and activate deep talent benches across media, commerce, and other disciplines, aligned to both agency-specific and segment-wide needs in APAC 

  • Leverage established candidate relationships, advanced sourcing strategies, and market mapping to accelerate pipelines and reduce time to fill across the region 

  • Maintain a strong, current understanding of agency operating models, role definitions, and evolving capability requirements across APAC markets 

Stakeholder Partnership & Executive Advisory 

  • Act as the senior recruiting partner to agency and segment leadership across APAC, providing strategic guidance, accountability, and visibility into regional hiring activity 

  • Lead structured intake and planning conversations with HR and business leaders to align on role design, priority setting, and hiring timelines across APAC 

  • Provide regular, executive-level updates on regional hiring progress, risks, pipeline health, and market dynamics 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to agency and segment leadership on talent availability, workforce planning, and competitive positioning across APAC markets 

  • Partner closely with peer regional leads, business leadership, and central TA colleagues to ensure alignment, collaboration, and effective deployment of resources across the wider TA organization 

Market Intelligence & Talent Insight 

  • Own and deliver market intelligence for roles across APAC, including candidate supply, competitive activity, salary bands, and regional dynamics across key markets  

  • Advise leaders on compensation insights, role calibration, and hiring feasibility across priority APAC markets 

  • Translate market insight into actionable recommendations that inform hiring strategy and decision-making at both the agency and segment level 

Team Development & Operational Excellence 

  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage APAC-based recruiters, building a high-performing regional team aligned to central TA standards 

  • Set and reinforce recruiting standards, expectations, and best practices across the APAC region 

  • Act as a visible leader within the region, modeling strong stakeholder partnership, candidate experience, and operational rigor 

  • Drive efficiencies through resource deployment, process improvement, and the application of AI and automation 

Enterprise & Central TA Contribution 

  • Contribute to the design and execution of global and segment-level recruiting strategy in partnership with Talent Acquisition Leadership 

  • Develop proactive talent pipelines in priority APAC markets aligned to near-term hiring needs and long-term business growth 

  • Support broader central TA initiatives, tools, and capability-building efforts 

  • Manage relationships with senior-level stakeholders across the region and globally 

  • Any other recruiting or projects as determined by the VP, Global Recruitment, Media & Commerce and/or Chief Recruiting Officer 

Qualifications 

  • 15+ years of progressive recruiting experience within media, commerce, marketing, or agency environments, with significant experience in APAC markets 

  • Proven experience leading and managing a recruiting team, including setting direction, developing talent, and driving accountability for outcomes 

  • Demonstrated success serving as a senior recruiting partner to executive leaders, with accountability for regional hiring outcomes 

  • Ability to balance team leadership, strategic advisory, and hands-on recruiting execution as the region requires 

  • Experience owning recruiting delivery across multiple markets or business units, with the ability to flex resources across competing priorities 

  • Strong understanding of agency operating models, role architecture, and capability needs within Advertising Services 

  • Deep knowledge of APAC talent markets, including regional compensation dynamics, candidate supply, and competitive landscape 

  • Experience working in matrixed, multi-brand, or global organizations with cross-regional collaboration 

  • Ability to translate market and talent intelligence into clear, actionable guidance for leaders 

  • Hands-on experience with ATS and recruiting technologies; iCIMS preferred
