GENERAL MANAGER

Job Title: General Manager – Cleaning Services

Job Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, business development, financial performance, and service delivery of the cleaning services division. The role ensures compliance with Singapore regulations, maintains high service standards, manages client relationships, and leads operational teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve company growth and profitability.
• Oversee daily operations of commercial, industrial, residential, and specialized cleaning services.
• Manage contracts, project schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely service delivery.
• Lead and supervise Operations Managers, Site Supervisors, and administrative staff.
• Ensure compliance with the National Environment Agency (NEA), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), and other applicable regulations.
• Establish and monitor quality assurance systems to maintain high cleaning standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and business partners.
• Prepare annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and control operational costs.
• Review tenders, quotations, and service contracts before submission.
• Drive business development initiatives and identify new market opportunities.
• Manage manpower planning, recruitment, training, and employee performance.
• Investigate operational issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare management reports.
• Oversee procurement of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and consumables.
• Promote continuous improvement through technology adoption and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in the cleaning, facilities management, or related service industry.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore cleaning industry regulations and best practices.
• Experience managing large operational teams and multiple client sites.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
• Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and contract management.
• Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and operational management systems.
