JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Be part of the team for analytical and scientific instruments. As a Service Engineer in our Scientific Division, you will work hands-on with advanced technologies used in research, manufacturing, and high‑tech industries. RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Execution & Technical Support
Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair scientific instruments at customer sites in regional countries
Work on advanced systems such as Particle Size Analyzers, XRF, Spectroscopy, and ICP instruments
Perform calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance according to SOPs and safety standards
Customer Engagement
Provide professional communication with customers, including service updates, reports, and recommendations.
Deliver user training on instrument operation, maintenance, and safety practice
Coordination & Escalation
Work closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service/Admin, regional experts, factory support) to resolve issues efficiently.
Escalate technical issues with clear documentation (logs, error data, observations).
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare accurate service records, including reports, parts usage, and system configurations/backups.
Ensure proper handling and traceability of tools and spare parts.
Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Continuous Learning & Capability Development
Build product and application knowledge through structured training and hands-on experience.
Prepare service and spare parts quotations to customers enquiries
Business & Operational Support
Identify service opportunities such as maintenance contracts, upgrades, and spare parts.
Support quotation preparation where required.
Operational Excellence
Ensure timely service delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Travel and Others
Travel overseas for work assignments as and when required or requested by your immediate supervisor or Head of Department.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by your immediate supervisor or Head of Department from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation/Controls (or equivalent).
Experience with analytical/scientific instruments such as Particle Size Analyzers, X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), spectroscopy systems, and/or ICP spectrometers.
Strong troubleshooting mindset, customer orientation, safe working habits, and clear service documentation.
Good planning and time management; proactive and able to work independently as required.
Willing to travel overseas to support regional customers; local travel required (own transport preferred).
