Innovation Technologist

We are looking for an Innovation Technologist to imagine, prototype, and build the next generation of interactive products and experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves experimenting with emerging technologies, rapidly turning ideas into working prototypes, and transforming ambitious concepts into commercial-ready solutions. You'll work at the intersection of technology, creativity, engineering, and user experience—bringing together hardware, software, electronics, automation, AI, sensors, and physical computing to create products that delight users and solve real business challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and iterate functional prototypes using electronics, sensors, microcontrollers, motors, LEDs, robotics and other interactive technologies.
• Evaluate the feasibility, manufacturability and scalability of new concepts from prototype through commercialisation.
• Develop schematics, technical drawings and CAD models for fabrication and production.
• Test, troubleshoot and refine prototypes through rapid iteration and user feedback.
• Explore new materials, manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques to improve product performance and user experience.
• Work closely with designers, developers, strategists and project teams to transform ideas into compelling interactive experiences.
• Collaborate with external fabricators, manufacturers and technology partners to ensure products are built to specification and quality.
• Build proof-of-concepts using platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32 and other embedded systems.
• Support fabrication through 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC or other rapid prototyping methods where required.
• Continuously experiment with AI, IoT, computer vision, robotics, immersive technologies and other emerging technologies that could shape future products.

Requirements:

• Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Product Design Engineering or related disciplines.
• Strong passion for innovation, emerging technologies and creating things that have never been built before.
• Hands-on experience developing functional prototypes involving electronics and physical computing.
• Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi or equivalent), sensors, actuators, motors and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and technical drawings.
• Experience working with fabrication vendors and manufacturers from prototype to production.
• Comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies quickly through experimentation and research.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to bridge hardware, software and user experience.
• Resourceful, curious and highly self-driven with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Able to manage multiple innovation projects simultaneously while balancing speed and quality.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts.
• Have a positive attitude and innovative mindset
