The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2024 to harness technology and foster innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems through global partnerships. GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invest in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund.
We’re looking for an Art Director to lead brand and event design at GFTN. You’ll be developing key visuals, shaping brand systems, and driving creative projects from idea to delivery. The role is both creative and managerial. You’ll be mentoring designers, reviewing work, and working directly with stakeholders to bring bold ideas to life.
The creative pace here is quick and the projects are ambitious. We need someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and is willing to put in the extra push when deadlines demand it.
Strong design craft is a must, along with confidence in motion and curiosity about new tools. We’re looking for someone who can apply AI and generative tools to spark ideas and streamline workflows, and who is equally at home creating a festival key visual or guiding a junior through their first project.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation of key visuals, brand systems and event identities across print, digital and experiential platforms.
Translate event themes into clear, compelling visual narratives for stages, campaigns and communications.
Mentor and manage designers, set creative standards and guide the growth of junior team members.
Review creative work with a critical eye and uphold the highest levels of polish, brand alignment and consistency.
Work directly with internal stakeholders and clients to present concepts and bring projects to life.
Stay hands-on with design execution, from layouts and campaigns to motion pieces, especially for complex or high-profile projects.
Incorporate AI and generative tools into the design process to explore new creative possibilities.
Deliver motion work when required, with solid proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Build fully functional website prototypes in Figma for seamless developer handover.
Create EDMs and webpages in CMS platforms with a strong grasp of design, flow and usability.
Design and refine presentation decks in PowerPoint with clarity, structure and visual impact.
Contribute across video projects from pre-production through to post, bringing narrative and technical quality together.
Apply working knowledge of HTML and CSS to troubleshoot design-related issues where needed.
Manage multiple projects at once, balancing deadlines with high standards of execution.
Develop and evolve design systems that allow the brand to scale across different initiatives and platforms.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Multimedia or a related field.
At least 6 years of professional design experience with a strong portfolio covering brand identity, event key visuals and cross-platform campaigns.
Proven ability to lead creative initiatives, manage stakeholders and mentor junior designers.
High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Strong skills in Figma for creating prototypes and collaborating with developers.
Experience using CMS platforms to build EDMs and webpages with attention to detail and usability.
Solid presentation skills in PowerPoint, with the ability to design clear and visually engaging decks.
Familiarity with AI and generative tools such as MidJourney, Runway ML and more, to support creative ideation and execution.
Knowledge of HTML and CSS for troubleshooting and supporting digital design projects is an advantage.
Highly organised and dependable, able to deliver high-quality work across multiple fast-paced projects.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the confidence to present ideas and creative choices to a variety of stakeholders.
A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for raising creative standards.
