Senior Interior Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced with design leadership capabilities to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the development of innovative commercial interior design solutions, manage projects from concept through completion, and ensure exceptional design quality throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams, while also mentoring junior designers, sharing technical expertise, and promoting a collaborative and high-performing design culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop creative interior design concepts, space planning layouts, and design proposals for commercial projects, including retail, F&B, showroom, office, and hospitality environments.
• ⁠Prepare mood boards, material palettes, furniture selections, colour schemes, and design presentations.
• Produce detailed design drawings, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, joinery details, and 3D visualisations using industry-standard software.
• Coordinate with clients to understand project objectives, design requirements, and functional needs.
• Work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout the design and construction process.
• Conduct site measurements, site inspections, and coordination meetings to ensure design intent and project quality are maintained.
• ⁠Assist in material sourcing, sample reviews, and specification of finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Prepare design documentation, presentation materials, and construction drawing packages.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Keep up to date with design trends, sustainable materials, and new technologies within the interior design industry.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial interior design, with a portfolio demonstrating retail, F&B, showroom, office, or hospitality projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other 3D visualisation/rendering software.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing junior designers, with the ability to provide design guidance, technical support, and constructive feedback.
• Strong understanding of space planning, material specifications, construction detailing, and design documentation.
• Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout project execution.
• A proven track record of winning or being shortlisted in recognised regional, national, or international interior design, architecture, spatial design, or creative design competitions is highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to liaise with English- and Mandarin-speaking clients, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Strong creative thinking, presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines.
