WAGO started setting up an R&D Competence Center in Singapore in 2023 to better cope with the rising global market demand. The new R&D Competence Center operates within the already existing infrastructure in Singapore.
The new R&D Competence Center in Singapore focuses on the business areas of sensor technology and power electronics, which serve the industry, energy, building, and green mobility sectors.
We are looking for someone who enjoys and has experience in the mechanical design of industrial electronic products.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, conceptualizing, and creating mechanical designs for electronics and power electronics products.
Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using Siemens NX.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to complete design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
Work with vendors and contractors efficiently to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Conduct thermal simulation and analysis using industrial software for development.
Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration, including 3D printing.
Develop prototype testing processes, and perform testing and verification of new designs.
Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
Manage BOM creation and maintenance within the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
Ensure the project timeline is met and the project stays within budget.
Qualifications & Competences
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
Extensive experience using CAD software such as Siemens NX, Creo, or similar.
Familiar with state-of-the-art 3D printing technology for prototyping purpose.
Experience and knowledge of Industrial Design (ID) would be an advantage.
Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) would be an advantage.
Knowledge and experience with special plastic molding techniques, especially overmolding or ultrasonic welding, would be an advantage.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
Self-motivated and a great team player.
