Visual Arts Centre (VAC) is a premium Singapore-based art studio leading in private art enrichment programmes and courses for youths and adults operating since 2016, with locations at Dhoby Ghaut and Chinatown. We offer a wide range of visual arts programmes for children, teens, adults, and corporate groups — from classical drawing and painting to digital art, batik, calligraphy, and cultural learning journeys. Our work is guided by a simple belief: that art is a medium for community enrichment and joy. Every class, event, and client interaction is an opportunity to deliver that experience with warmth, professionalism, and pride.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Art Studio Manager is the operational heartbeat of VAC. This is a versatile, fast-paced, front-facing role for someone who thrives in a tactile, people-first environment — comfortable managing the day-to-day running of the studio while also engaging directly with students, parents, corporate clients, and teaching artists. The Studio Manager is based in Dhoby Ghaut and ensures that the Art Studio is running smoothly, ensuring that every student's art journey is well supported, assisting in the coordination of programmes, events, and client relationships that make VAC's studios come alive. While not a marketing role, the Studio Manager will regularly support the wider team's outreach and promotional efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Studio Operations
Oversee the daily running of the Dhoby Ghaut studio, ensuring each space is clean, well-organised, and ready for classes and events
Manage and oversee student enquiries, appointments, and track customer follow ups
Advise students and parents on course planning and assist them to provide guidance on art learning trajectories
Be able to coordinate in-class experiences - assist and provide feedback to art teachers when necessary, and take a hands-on approach in assisting art students to make them feel comfortable in class, and providing art tips and coaching to junior learners, to support the teacher's guidance and approach during class
Maintain art supplies and studio inventory — tracking stock levels, ordering materials, and ensuring instructors always have what they need
Set up and break down studio spaces for classes, workshops, exhibitions, and private events
Troubleshoot day-to-day operational issues (equipment, facilities, last-minute changes) with resourcefulness and a level head
Programme & Curriculum Coordination
Work closely with teaching artists to plan and arrange the student art curriculum across age groups and skill levels
Coordinate class timetables, holiday bootcamps, and seasonal programmes from planning through execution
Track student progress and provide informed course recommendations based on each student's interests and development
Support onboarding of new instructors and visiting artists, ensuring they are briefed on VAC's systems, values, and expectations
Serve as a key point of contact for art learners and students of all ages
Student & Family Relations
Act as a warm, professional first point of contact for enquiries, walk-ins, and enrolments at both studios
Follow up proactively with students and parents on enrolment status, attendance, and progress
Handle email correspondence promptly and professionally, managing a steady daily volume
Advise students and parents on suitable courses and learning pathways, drawing on genuine product knowledge of VAC's offerings
Resolve concerns or complaints with emotional maturity, care, and a solutions-first mindset
Team Coordination & External Events
Coordinate scheduling and communication with part-time instructors, studio assistants, and interns across both sites
Support interns and junior staff with day-to-day guidance and task delegation
Foster a positive, collaborative studio culture rooted in VAC's values of heart, enthusiasm, and pride in craft
Support the team in the preparation and/or co-facilitation for corporate events and art cultural workshops and experiences
Marketing & Outreach Support
Assist the marketing team with execution of outreach initiatives as needed — this is a supporting function, not the core focus of the role
Contribute studio-floor insights (student feedback, popular courses, event highlights) that inform content and promotions
Help capture photo/video content during classes and events for use across VAC's social channels
Administration
Maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and enrolment data
Support timesheet tracking and basic administrative reporting for studio staff
Assist with maintaining programme materials, booking registers, and internal documentation
