Job Description - Bilingual Primary Class Teacher

We are seeking a passionate, resourceful, and forward-thinking Primary School Teachers to join our dynamic team in August 2026. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity and confidence in students through engaging lessons, performances, and co-curricular activities, fostering a love for the performing arts within an inclusiveinternational community. We are pleased to share that we are expanding our Primary offerings as follows:

  • Pelicans: Nursery to Year 2 (pupils aged 3–6)
  • Junior School: Year 3 to Year 6 (pupils aged 7–11)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a learning environment where students engage in ongoing learning and reflection.
  • Communicate and cooperate with staff and parents to support student success.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Arrange the classroom and materials according to school guidelines and maintain attractive displays to enhance the learning environment.
  • Organise external learning opportunities, such as outdoor learning trips.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress and behavior, providing feedback and setting improvement goals.
  • Prepare and present class assemblies and grade-level performances or productions.
  • Contribute to the extracurricular programme (ECAs)
  • Provide pastoral care and support for students, ensuring their well-being.
  • Maintain high standards of behavior, ensuring students' health and safety, and use positive reinforcement in line with school policies.
  • Attend required staff meetings, workshops, and school events, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Participate in professional development and improvement committees to enhance teaching practice.
  • Has experience teaching English and other Primary subjects within a bilingual or dual-language programme.(Mandarin language proficiency is not required for this role.)
  • Experience working in an immersive English–Mandarin bilingual environment would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how bilingual learners acquire language and access the curriculum across subjects.
  • Understands the progression of English language and literacy development within a bilingual or multilingual classroom context.
  • Able to adapt teaching approaches to support students with varying levels of English language proficiency.

  • A generosity of spirit and willingness to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school, including organizing trips and activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least four (4) years of teaching experience ideally within an international school environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, along with a Professional Teaching Qualification (e.g., PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma), or a valid Teacher License/QTS.
  • Desirable - experience of teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum.
  • Experience working with learner who have English as an Additional Language (EAL), incorporating strategies to support language acquisition and proficiency.
  • Candidates should also outline any areas of subject specialization and their willingness to take responsibility for teaching subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities, or Creative Arts across year levels.
  • Experience with inquiry-based and subject learning approaches and working in international schools.
  • Demonstrated passion for education and ability to inspire a lifelong love of learning.
