Computhink Academy is looking for a full-time Coding & Computing Educator to teach children and teenagers aged 7 to 16.
This is an educator role for someone who enjoys teaching young learners and wants to build a long-term career in coding education. You do not need to be an advanced software developer, but you must already have a working foundation in programming and be able to explain coding concepts clearly.
Applicants must already have the right to work in Singapore without employer-sponsored work pass support.
We are currently unable to apply for employer-sponsored work passes for this role.
You will teach students across different levels using platforms and languages such as:
Scratch
Minecraft Education
LEGO robotics
Python
HTML, CSS and JavaScript
basic game and web projects
You will guide students in programming concepts such as sequencing, loops, variables, conditionals, functions, lists, algorithms and problem-solving.
Conduct coding lessons for students aged 7 to 16. Explain coding concepts clearly and patiently
Guide students through projects and exercises. Help students debug and improve their code
Manage small-group classroom behaviour. Provide feedback on student progress
Prepare for lessons using Computhink Academy’s curriculum materials
Conduct holiday camps and workshops when required
Diploma or degree preferred, ideally in Computing, IT, Game Development, Engineering, Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field
Candidates from other fields may apply if they can demonstrate coding ability
Able to write and explain beginner Python programs using variables, loops, conditionals, lists and functions
Comfortable learning and teaching Scratch, Minecraft Education, Python and JavaScript
Clear spoken English
Patient, responsible and comfortable working with children and teenagers
Able to work enrichment-centre hours, including weekends
Teaching, tutoring, training, or coaching experience
Experience working with children or teenagers
Experience with Scratch, Minecraft Education, robotics, Python, JavaScript, HTML or CSS
Familiarity with Singapore’s Computing syllabus
This is a full-time role with a 5-day work week.
Weekend teaching is required. Off-days will be scheduled on weekdays where applicable.
During school holiday camp periods, working hours may be adjusted according to programme needs.
Training will be provided in our curriculum, teaching methods and classroom routines.
Suitable educators may progress towards roles such as Senior Coding Educator, Computing Educator, Curriculum Specialist, Academic Lead, or Centre Lead.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow as an educator, not someone looking for a short-term role while waiting for a software engineering job.
