About the Role
VionData Partners is sourcing a suitably qualified Discipline Support Officer (DSO) to be deployed at Sembawang Primary School. Working closely with the school's Student Development Committee, you will support discipline operations, student supervision, and restorative follow-up activities within a primary school environment.
This role is suited for a calm, professional individual with sound judgement, strong interpersonal skills, and experience supporting student conduct and behavioural management.
Contract Details
3 August 2026 – 30 November 2026 - Option to Extend
Up to 12 months (4 January 2027 – 30 November 2027), subject to school requirements and performance
Working Hours
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: 8:00am – 2:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
Tuesdays: 8:00am – 4:00pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, or school holidays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision & Discipline Prevention
Serve as a visible adult presence in high-movement areas and conduct systematic patrols during recess, lunch breaks, and lesson transitions.
Maintain supervisory presence in the canteen and Multi-Purpose Hall during daily recess periods.
Support proactive discipline strategies and assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation where appropriate.
2. Latecoming Monitoring
Record latecomers arriving after 7:30am.
Manage latecomers data and maintain detention lists.
3. In-House Suspension Support
Help establish a structured environment for suspended students to support learning continuity during suspension.
Guide students through structured reflective activities and support their transition back into the classroom environment.
4. Investigative & Case Support
Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews.
Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate.
Compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports for relevant Key Personnel for directions.
5. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up
Supervise detention sessions, including maintaining attendance and behavioural records.
Coordinate reflection and restorative activities with Student Management Committee members.
Facilitate student reflection on choices, consequences, and improvement strategies.
6. Data Management
Collate and manage discipline-related data, including latecoming records, discipline statements, and other relevant documentation.
7. Deployment & Reporting
Report operationally to the Student Development Committee.
Deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events.

The Discipline Support Officer is expected to:

Collaborate effectively with teachers and Key Personnel.
Requirements - Working Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a uniformed service background (e.g., Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or equivalent), with involvement in youth-related case investigation, behavioural support, and restorative work.
Alternatively, candidates with at least 5 years of experience in enforcement agencies or youth work settings will be considered.

Conflict management, de-escalation, and calm and proportionate behavioural intervention.
Sound judgement, discretion, and professionalism.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Accurate incident observation, documentation, and record management.
Proficiency in basic data entry and management, including organising and updating simple Excel spreadsheets.

Remuneration
Monthly Salary 4550S$ (commensurate with experience)
