Total Communication Therapy (TCT) is a specialist practice supporting children with language, learning, thinking, executive functioning, social communication, and developmental challenges.
Our work extends beyond traditional therapy. We help children become better thinkers, communicators, learners, problem-solvers, and participants in everyday life.

QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
• Degree in Linguistics, Psychology, Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Speech & Language related disciplines, or equivalent
OR
• Diploma qualifications with substantial experience in learning support, SEN, education, child development, or related fields
Experience in any of the following areas will be advantageous:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• ADHD
• Dyslexia
• Language and communication difficulties
• Learning support
• Executive functioning
• Social communication
• Developmental intervention
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver individual and small-group intervention sessions
• Support children’s language, thinking, executive functioning, social communication, and learning development
• Develop intervention goals and plans
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals
• Monitor and document children’s progress
• Prepare professional reports and recommendations
• Participate in programme development and innovation
• Contribute to parent education, workshops, and outreach initiatives
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS
As communication is a core part of our work, successful candidates should possess strong spoken and written Standard English.
Candidates should be able to:
• Model clear and grammatically accurate Standard English during intervention sessions
• Communicate professionally with parents, schools, and other professionals
• Produce clear, concise, and well-structured written reports
• Explain concepts, strategies, and recommendations in a manner that is easily understood by families and educators
• Demonstrate strong vocabulary, language awareness, and professional communication skills
The ability to code-switch appropriately between informal and professional communication settings is valued. However, candidates must be able to consistently use Standard English in therapeutic, educational, and professional contexts.
As part of the interview process, shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in language-based tasks, which may include:
• Explaining a child profile or learning scenario
• Writing a short professional email or case summary
• Discussing intervention recommendations for a child or family
• Demonstrating professional communication with parents and educators
