ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Upper Elementary section headmaster, managing 24 classes of students aged between 9 and

10, and a team of dynamic and diverse teachers, acting under the responsibility of the

Principal.

 Required to assume varied and multiple missions with the ability to handle a large work

volume with rigour, authority, organisational skills, quick execution and initiative.

 Will be working closely with his or her colleagues in the Kindergarten and Elementary

schools in order to ensure a coherence in the programmes of the entire Kindergarten and

Elementary sections in accordance with the French official instructions, under the guidance

of the Principal.

 The position calls for an acute sense of human relations as well as flexibility and adaptability

within the local and French context of education at large.

 Working in a school with a collaborative system of governance, the candidate must be

capable of constant and constructive dialogue with all the parties involved: educational

management, executive management, executive committee (parents and companies)

 Excellent and developed communication, dialogue and listening skills and the ability to

maintain excellent inter-personal relations are of paramount importance.

SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 French Ministry of Education degree holder or equivalent

 At least 5 years of successful experience as Headmaster required, with recent experience as

Head of a Primary French school with at least 14 classes indispensable

 Deep understanding of the subject and the curriculum

 Experience in teaching in Primary school, as well as with teacher training

 Knowledge and experience with bilingual programmes and their implementation

 Good knowledge of educational software

 Strong teamwork and team leadership skills

 Proficiency in English is a must
