Job Description - L1 English Teacher

Forrest Preschool is in search of an enthusiastic Preschool L2 Teacher with a deep passion for nature and teaching. We are a nature-inspired Forest Preschool, grounded in the principles of play and inquiry-based learning. Our mornings are spent outdoors with the children, exploring nature's wonders. Additionally, we embark on weekly adventures into the forest to identify wildlife, splash around in streams, climb trees, discover earthworms, jump in mud puddles, and much more. We strongly believe in the power of play-based learning, and if you share our vision, please send us your resume and a cover letter.

We are looking for candidates who exhibit creativity, a strong affinity for children, and are eager to get their hands dirty, literally. Ideal candidates should have:

  • A minimum Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, Arts, or Teaching.
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in a preschool setting (preferred).
  • Exceptional written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • An open-minded attitude and a willingness to embrace the Reggio Emilia teaching approach.
  • A receptiveness to feedback and a desire for personal growth.
  • Job Responsibilities

As a part of our team, you will be expected to:

  • Execute your professional duties in alignment with the school's policies and guidelines.
  • Uphold the school's vision, mission, and philosophy, embodying professionalism as an educator at all times.
  • Maintain a conducive classroom environment and uphold the school's overall quality.
  • Engage children in their learning by designing and delivering lessons tailored to their unique needs and interests.
  • Source and provide suitable learning materials and teaching aids to enhance the educational experience.
  • Collaborate with children as a supportive guide, creating stimulating learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and principal to develop a comprehensive portfolio showcasing children's progress, maintaining observation records and achievement data as needed.
  • Foster strong, positive partnerships with parents.
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and the management team, contributing to a healthy work environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess expertise in childcare, classroom management, and early childhood education. Problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and adaptability are also highly valued. Previous teaching experience, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills, is essential.
