Job Description

The Primary Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective Mathematics lessons that help students develop strong mathematical concepts, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the School's curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach mathematical concepts, problem-solving strategies, reasoning skills, and mathematical applications.
• Differentiate instruction to meet students' different learning needs and abilities.
• Foster confidence, curiosity, and independent thinking in Mathematics.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and examination papers.

Classroom Management

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment.
• Establish clear classroom expectations and encourage positive behaviour.
• Ensure students' safety and wellbeing at all times.

Student Assessment

• Assess students through classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
• Monitor students' academic progress and provide timely feedback.
• Prepare student reports and maintain accurate academic records.

Parent Communication

• Communicate professionally with parents regarding students' academic progress and learning needs.
• Attend parent-teacher meetings when required.

School Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and School events.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the Head of Department to improve teaching quality.
• Requirements
• Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Education, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (PGDE, PGCE, NIE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Experience
• At least 1 years of teaching experience at the primary school level is preferred.
• Experience teaching the Singapore MOE Mathematics syllabus or AEIS Mathematics is highly desirable.
• Fresh graduates with excellent academic results and a passion for teaching are welcome to apply.
