Quayside Isle Preparatory School, also known as QuIPS, was established in 2013 and is a preschool for children aged 18 months to 6 years 11 months.

Located in Sentosa Cove, QuIPS offers children a unique learning environment surrounded by nature, outdoor spaces and meaningful real-world experiences. We are registered with ECDA and deliver a rich curriculum that combines the UK core curriculum with the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC).

Mandarin is taught across all age groups, supporting a seamless bilingual approach that is both effective and engaging for children.

At QuIPS, our teachers create meaningful learning experiences through play, while maintaining depth and breadth in learning. We make use of our natural surroundings in Sentosa and include outdoor learning and field trips to help children connect classroom learning with the wider world.

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, responsible and proactive Assistant / Co-Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in the daily running of the classroom.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support children’s learning, routines, supervision, classroom organisation and communication with families.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in the planning and delivery of classroom activities
• Engage children meaningfully through play, routines, small group activities and learning experiences
• Assist in preparing teaching materials and classroom resources
• Maintain and organise classroom materials, learning stations and displays
• Support daily classroom routines, including transitions, meals, rest time, toileting and outdoor play
• Assist with classroom observations and documentation where required
• Support differentiated learning activities for children with varying needs and abilities
• Assist in identifying children who may require additional support
• Contribute to a safe, clean and nurturing classroom environment
• Maintain the safety and cleanliness of resources, equipment and classroom spaces
• Support outdoor learning experiences that are aligned with the curriculum
• Assist in communication with parents where appropriate and under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
• Step in to support classroom leadership when required
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, children and parents
• Maintain student confidentiality at all times
• Participate in team meetings, school events and professional development activities
• Adhere to QuIPS policies, procedures and professional expectations

Requirements

• Must possess at least a basic Early Childhood qualification, such as Fundamentals Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent
• ECDA certification or eligibility for ECDA registration is preferred
• Prior experience working with children aged 18 months to 6 years old is preferred
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Warm, patient and nurturing disposition
• Responsible, organised and able to work well in a team
• Comfortable supporting daily routines such as meals, toileting, rest time, outdoor play and classroom transitions
• Able to communicate professionally with children, colleagues and parents
