Preschool Music Teacher

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver the MindChamps Music curriculum to preschool Champs from Playgroup (PG) to kindergarten 2 (K2).
• Conduct engaging and age-appropriate music lessons covering music literacy, singing, percussion, keyboard, recorder, and violin (for upper preschool levels).
• Plan, prepare, and implement lessons in accordance with the Centre's curriculum, policies, philosophy, and educational framework.
• Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment that supports each Champ’s musical, educational, and developmental growth.
• Observe, assess, and document Champ’s progress through checklists, anecdotal records, photographs, and progress notes.
• Prepare lesson materials and simple music arrangements for school celebrations, performances, and year-end concerts.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in centreevents, meetings, and professional development as required.
• Collaborate with class teachers on integrating music with interdisciplinary subjects.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned to support the Centre's operational needs.

Job Requirements

• Diploma, Professional Certification, or equivalent qualification in Music (e.g. ABRSM / Trinity).
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least one musicalinstrument; proficiency in two or more instruments (e.g. Piano, Violin, Guitar,Ukulele) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Solfege, the Suzuki Violin Method, and keyboard instruction will be an added advantage.
• Prior experience teaching music to children, preferably in a preschool or classroom setting.
• Passion for early childhood education with the ability to inspire and engage young learners through music.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• Creative, energetic, patient, and able to build meaningful relationships with children.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
