Private Home Educator (Full-Time)

**Role Overview**

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to provide structured after-school academic support and developmental guidance to a school-going child within a private household setting.

This is a long-term, full-time role requiring consistent daily commitment. The successful candidate will deliver personalised one-to-one academic coaching, establish structured learning routines, and support the child's holistic development in a stable home environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Supervise and guide daily homework completion and academic revision

* Provide academic instruction and support in both English and Mandarin, as the role requires bilingual teaching across both languages

* Strengthen the child's foundation in English literacy, comprehension, and written expression

* Provide structured Mandarin language support including reading, writing, and oral communication

* Develop and maintain consistent after-school routines and positive study habits

* Foster independent learning ability and disciplined academic behaviour

* Engage the child in constructive educational activities, including guided reading in both languages

* Monitor and assess academic progress; communicate observations and updates to parents on a regular basis

* Maintain a focused, respectful, and nurturing learning environment

**Candidate Requirements**

**Education**

* Bachelor's Degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related discipline

**Experience – Candidates from any of the following backgrounds are welcome to apply:**

* MOE-trained or currently/formerly serving teachers with structured classroom and curriculum experience

* Educators with experience in international school settings (IB, Cambridge, or equivalent curricula)

* Full-time tuition centre educators with a minimum of 2–5 years of proven teaching experience and demonstrated ability to improve student outcomes

**Language Requirement**

* Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is required, as the candidate will be responsible for delivering academic instruction and support in both languages

**Skills & Competencies**

* Solid subject knowledge in English and/or Mandarin at the primary or secondary level

* Experienced in structured tutoring or one-to-one educational support

* Familiar with Singapore's MOE curriculum and/or PSLE framework (advantageous)

**Personal Attributes**

* Patient, nurturing, and emotionally mature

* Disciplined with strong professional boundaries

* Self-directed and able to work independently in a private home environment

* Reliable and committed to a fixed long-term schedule

**Work Arrangement**

This position is based within a private residence. The candidate is expected to work fixed afternoon to evening hours, Monday to Friday, on a long-term basis. Candidates must be comfortable with and committed to this arrangement prior to application.
