Psychologist (Early Intervention) @Metta Preschool Punggol

Job Summary

The Psychologist provides assessment, intervention, consultation, and training services to support children with developmental needs in an early intervention setting. Working closely with educators, allied health professionals, and families, the Psychologist delivers evidence-based, family-centred practices that promote positive developmental, behavioural, emotional, and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental, school readiness, and comprehensive needs assessments as part of a transdisciplinary team.
• Develop and review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor children's developmental progress.
• Provide evidence-based psychological interventions to support emotional regulation, behaviour management, social communication, and social skills development.
• Administer and interpret formal assessments to support educational planning, school placement, and transition decisions.
• Provide consultation, coaching, and support to caregivers, educators, and team members to ensure consistent intervention strategies across home and school settings.
• Deliver staff training, professional development, and clinical guidance to strengthen service quality.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and allied health professionals to provide integrated and family-centred support.
• Participate in programme evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and school events.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology or Educational Psychology.
• Registered Psychologist or member of a recognised psychological society.
• Preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience working with children, including those with developmental needs.
• Experience in psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation within educational, clinical, or early intervention settings.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of child development, learning, emotional and social development, and behavioural management.
• Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and clinical documentation.
• Professional, empathetic, and committed to ethical practice.

Preferred

• Full registration or eligibility for registration/membership with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or an equivalent professional body.
