SPECIAL NEEDS TEACHER (CHILDREN EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM)

Job Summary

Deliver specialized teaching and intervention services for young students with special needs in the Early Intervention Program. Collaborate with allied health professionals to design and implement individualized educational plans and behavioral interventions that support student development.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom environments to foster positive learning and engagement for students with special needs
• Document and report student behavior accurately to inform intervention strategies
• Develop and implement detailed lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
• Lead and participate in team meetings with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Psychologists to coordinate care and interventions
• Plan and execute social, emotional, and behavioral interventions to support student growth
• Plan, document, and report academic progress and apply targeted interventions based on data
• Perform curriculum mapping and design individualized instruction and lesson plans aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Conduct student assessments, manage grading, and assign homework to track learning outcomes
• Maintain comprehensive student records and communicate regularly with parents and school staff to support student progress

Required competencies and certifications

• Advanced diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs)
• Minimum one year of experience working with young students with learning disabilities

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Teaching experience in Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC)
• Knowledge of Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS)
