Specialist Teacher: Tech & Design

ROLE
The Specialist Teacher - Tech and Design, is responsible for delivering an engaging and innovative technology and design curriculum to students. The role focuses on developing students' technological literacy, computational thinking, creativity, design thinking, problem-solving, digital citizenship, and practical technology skills through hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences.

As part of their role, the Teacher will foster a learning environment where students explore coding, robotics, digital design, engineering concepts, makerspace activities, and emerging technologies while supporting the school's mission and international curriculum framework.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach Technology and Design to students aligned with the School’s curriculum framework and standards.
• Deliver engaging lessons in coding, robotics, digital design, engineering, and design thinking.
• Create innovative project-based learning experiences and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and parents.
• Manage and maintain technology labs and related equipment.
• Promote digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use.
• Support extracurricular activities such as coding, robotics, and STEM clubs.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Technology Education, Design Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years of relevant and successful full-time experience teaching coding, robotics, digital design, or STEM-related subjects in a K-12 school.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with educational technology tools and digital learning platforms.
• Experience in an international school environment.
• Certifications in robotics, coding, design technology, maker space education, Google, Microsoft, or related fields will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of technology integration in education.
• Knowledge of coding languages appropriate for school-aged learners.
• Familiarity with robotics and engineering concepts.
• Expertise in project-based and inquiry-based learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse international community.
