Job Description - Vice Principal (Early Childhood)
We are seeking an experienced Vice Principal (Early Childhood) to join our preschool leadership team. This role combines classroom teaching with leadership responsibilities, offering the opportunity to support daily school operations while delivering quality education to preschool children. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, possesses strong leadership potential, and is committed to fostering a positive learning environment for both children and educators.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English to an upper-level preschool class and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the ECDA curriculum framework.
Foster children's language, literacy, and overall developmental progress through effective classroom teaching.
Monitor children's learning outcomes and maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
Support the Senior Principal in overseeing the school's daily operations and administrative functions.
Prepare staff rosters and assist with manpower planning.
Manage petty cash, inventory, and the procurement of school supplies.
Assist with parent billing, fee collection, and other administrative duties.
Conduct school tours and engage with prospective parents when required.
Build positive relationships with parents by addressing enquiries, feedback, and day-to-day concerns.
Ensure compliance with ECDA regulations and maintain accurate school documentation.
Support curriculum planning, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to teaching staff to support their professional development.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Care & Education or a related discipline.
ECDA-recognised Leadership Certification is preferred, or currently pursuing an approved leadership programme.
Proven experience teaching in an early childhood education setting, preferably with upper-level preschool children.
Experience teaching English language and literacy to young children.
Strong understanding of ECDA curriculum frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese to communicate with Chinese speaking parents.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate about early childhood education with a strong commitment to both teaching and school leadership.
