About The Job

Singapore University of Social Sciences is one of Singapore's six autonomous universities and its mission is to provide lifelong education that equips learners to serve society. Home to more than 15,000 students, SUSS provides an applied education that targets both fresh school leavers and adult learners, with a focus on the social sciences. It adopts a flexible and practice-focused learning approach and offers more than 70 degree programmes in various disciplines. Applications are invited for a Visiting Scholar position in the area of Finance at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

The successful candidate will join the School of business and will be expected to contribute to a range of academic responsibilities, which include but not limited to academic mentorship and faculty development and conduct research in finance and closely related fields.

What You Will Be Doing

The successful candidate will join the School of Business and will be expected to contribute to a range of academic responsibilities, which include but not limited to:
 

Research

• Contribute to the School’s research performance indicatorsPreference will be given to applicants whose research or teaching expertise cover the following areas: (a) private risk markets, (b) risk measurement. 

Academic mentorship and faculty development

• Provide mentorship to faculty members and conduct workshops/ seminars to strengthen research capability

Internationalisation and collaboration

• Strengthen partnerships with overseas institutions and facilitate joint research projects and publications

Job Requirements

• Ph.D. degree holder in a relevant discipline from a reputable university. 
• Extensive experience (a minimum of ten years) with relevant teaching and research in an established university.  
• Demonstrate a strong research pipeline targeting recognizable and reputable academic journals. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of integrity
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team, keep abreast of developments in their fields, think strategically, and be a role model to other faculty.
• Currently Associate Professor or above.
