ASSISTANT MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Role Overview

The incumbent is responsible for preparing, reviewing and revising mechanical design drawings based on customer specifications and supporting production, quotation and quality control activities to ensure project requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical& Design Support

· Review customer specifications, drawings and technical documents for mechanical design

· Prepare and submit engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks for Customer approval

· Revise and amend drawings based on feedback from Production Manager or Customers

· Ensure design accuracy, compliance with specifications and manufacturability

2. Project Coordination

· Liaise with customers on engineering design and technical requirements

· Coordinate with production team to ensure drawings and specifications a properly executed

· Review vendor quotations and technical details to support project requirements

3. Quotation& Costing

· Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on project scope

· Prepare and submit quotations to customers

· Follow-up with customers to ensure requirements are met and clarify technical details

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

· Perform daily QA checks on product release to ensure quality standards are met

· Ensure all Quality Management System (QMS) documents are properly maintained

· Support and implement quality control processes in compliance with ISO Standards

5. Maintenance of Documentation

· Maintain proper records of drawing, revisions, and technical documents

· Ensure all engineering and quality documents are organized and up to date

6. Production & Site Support

· Support production team in fabrication and assembly processes

· Assist in resolving technical issues related to design and manufacturing

· Ensure products are fabricated according to approved drawings

7. Product Scope

· Involved in design and support of mechanical structure products, including: Skid platform, Form hose reel, enclosures and panels, bicycle racks, battery racks, construction structural works
