About the Role
We are looking for a commercially driven and technically minded Assistant Sales Manager to join our Optical Business team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of the rapidly growing data center, optical communications, and digital infrastructure sectors across Southeast Asia.
You will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, managing strategic customer relationships, and supporting large-scale data center projects throughout Singapore and the region. Working closely with regional teams, partners, consultants, and industry stakeholders, you will drive business growth while delivering innovative solutions to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, develop, and acquire new business opportunities across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
Understand customer requirements and propose suitable products, solutions, and value-added services.
Conduct market research, business analysis, and commercial evaluations to identify growth opportunities.
Manage sales pipelines, forecasts, quotations, negotiations, and project follow-ups.
Support budget planning and business strategy initiatives.
Build relationships with key stakeholders including Data Center Operators (DCOs), EPC contractors, consultants, system integrators, and technology partners.
Participate in customer engagements during the pre-specification, design, and pre-tender phases of projects.
Track, qualify, and support data center project opportunities across the Southeast Asia region.
Collaborate with technical, regional, and cross-functional teams to develop competitive solutions.
Support solution positioning and project coordination to advance business opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies within the data center and optical communications industries.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical), Business, or a related field.
Min 3 years of experience in Optical Communications, Data Centres, Telecommunications, Electronics, Semiconductors or Industrial Technology Solutions
Strong understanding of optical communication technologies, networking infrastructure, or data center solutions
Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and develop market penetration strategies.
Ability to analyze business and financial data to support commercial decision-making.
Strong presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
