Associate Director - Critical Utilities & Facilities

Senior Professional Engineer, recognised (internally and externally) authority in one or more technical / project areas. Provides technical or program leadership for the engineering function. Would be expected to coach employee and engage at a Senior Level in the business to provide technical / project / commercial direction in recognised area of expertise.

• Provides input into the development of engineering approaches and Operational Technology (OT) strategy, contributing to the overall delivery of the Engineering framework in project execution and operations
• Collaborates with Global Engineering / Site Engineering in project execution and achieve operational readiness
• Ensure that systems are specified and delivered in alignment with AZ’s global automation strategy.
• Manages planning, budgeting, solution development, supplier liaison and contract management etc.
• Acts as a technical advisor to senior management team members, developing appropriate engineering delivery solutions in line with the global and local business priorities and objectives
• Controls and monitors cost, capacity planning and utilisation to achieve operations within budget
• Acts as an escalation point for technical issues. Works collaboratively within the business, building effective and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of business objectives
• Develops standards at technical excellence, regulatory compliant, right first time and improving profitability
• Manages supplier performance and maintains contracts for delivery of engineering services in projects and operations
• Supports the business in communicating and enabling change within the business area
• Coaches and owns development plans of reporting automation engineers
• Owns and drives KPIs across productivity, quality, safety, schedule adherence and cost
• Creates an inclusive and collaborative culture, owns “grey areas” across functions and achieves best in class performance among different teams
• Drives Continuous Improvement mindset enabling goals in lean / cost efficient operations, environmental sustainability
• Collaborates with all stakeholders including Global IT ensuring alignment of data standards and infrastructure and enables AZ’s vision of autonomous manufacturing and smart factory technology implementation
