Automation / PLC Engineer (Siemens TIA Portal) – Manufacturing MNC

We are representing a well-established multinational manufacturing company seeking a technically strong Production / Process Improvement Engineer to support manufacturing operations, equipment reliability, and automation enhancement initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving production efficiency, stabilizing processes, supporting automation systems, and driving continuous improvement across the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Engineering Support

• Drive improvements in production workflow, equipment performance, and overall operational efficiency

• Support daily production activities through technical troubleshooting and problem-solving on equipment and processes

• Analyze production performance and implement initiatives to improve yield and reduce material wastage

• Lead and support initiatives to enhance machine stability, uptime, and utilization

• Assist in installation, modification, and enhancement of production systems and machinery

Process Development & Improvement

• Develop, document, and standardize manufacturing processes and operating procedures

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to introduce new processes and support product/process changes

• Identify improvement opportunities and implement cost-saving and productivity enhancement initiatives

• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process deviations

Training & Team Development

• Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to junior engineers and production technicians

• Ensure team capability development for effective machine operation and process execution

Maintenance & Reliability

• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability

• Work with maintenance teams to ensure machines and facilities remain in optimal operating condition

• Support troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and process-related issues

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure production processes comply with established quality management systems (ISO / automotive-quality standards where applicable)

• Monitor process performance using statistical methods and in-process quality controls

• Support in-line quality checks and data-driven process control initiatives

• Participate in investigations for non-conformance, customer feedback, and internal quality issues

• Drive implementation of corrective actions and ensure issues do not recur

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline

• Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial production environment

• Hands-on exposure to automation or PLC-based systems

• Familiar with Siemens PLC platforms and programming tools such as TIA Portal and/or STEP 7

• Experience in troubleshooting machinery and supporting production operations

• Understanding of process improvement, yield enhancement, and manufacturing efficiency concepts

• Knowledge of quality systems and basic statistical process control is an advantage

• Strong problem-solving mindset with willingness to work in a production environment
