Backend Engineer (AI Infrastructure & Inference)

Our client is building an AI-native product that transforms how people manage conversations, tasks and workflows through intelligent automation.

We're looking for a Backend Engineer (AI) to build the production systems powering every AI interaction. You'll own backend services, inference pipelines and orchestration layers that ensure AI features are fast, reliable and scalable.

What You'll Do

• Build and operate backend services for AI-powered products
• Design inference pipelines, orchestration layers and production APIs
• Optimize latency, throughput, caching, batching and streaming
• Monitor production systems with logging, alerting and observability
• Debug distributed systems and improve reliability at scale
• Collaborate with AI, ML and Product teams to deliver production-ready features

What We're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience in production environments
• Experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
• Strong Python and/or Node.js programming skills
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases
• Exposure to LLMs, AI inference, embeddings or GenAI applications is highly preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward shipping high-quality production systems

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates from AI, Generative AI, AI Infrastructure, Cloud Platforms, Developer Platforms, SaaS or Distributed Systems environments will be highly regarded.
