Backend Engineer (TypeScript/NodeJS)

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday (8.30am – 6pm), Friday (8.30am – 5.30pm) (Hybrid working arrangement)
Working Location: Braddell
Salary Package: Up to SGD 11,000 + AWS
Employment Type: Contract (1 year renewable with chances of conversion)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
• Develop robust RESTful APIs to support web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
• Build reusable and maintainable backend components following secure coding best practices.
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability through efficient backend architecture.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful API services for internal and external system integrations.
• Integrate backend services with third-party platforms, government systems, and enterprise applications.
• Implement authentication and authorisation mechanisms using modern security standards.
• Troubleshoot API integration issues and ensure seamless data exchange across systems.
• Develop and deploy containerised microservices using Docker.
• Build, deploy, and manage services on AWS.
• Work with Amazon ECS/EKS to orchestrate containerised workloads.
• Support CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and delivery.
• Design, develop, and optimise relational databases using PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Develop efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.
• Ensure data integrity, performance optimisation, backup, and recovery strategies are implemented.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of backend software development experience using Node.js.
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating enterprise systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration using AWS ECS and/or Amazon EKS.
• Experience deploying applications on AWS
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development methodologies.
