Job Description - Chief Product & Technology Officer(CPTO)

Position Summary

TheChief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) will define and lead Alpha X’sproduct and technology strategy as the Company expands from its semiconductorheritage into broader industrial sectors. The role is accountable foridentifying the right product positioning, translating market needs into afocused product portfolio and roadmap, and directing the R&D team to buildscalable, commercially viable industrial software solutions.

WithAlpha X’s existing capabilities in manufacturing software and automation, the CPTOwill determine where the Company can compete and win, convert project-basedknow-how into repeatable products, and ensure that technology investmentssupport sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

1.Product Strategy & Market Positioning

Define Product Direction: Assess AlphaX’s existing software and automation capabilities and establish a clear product visionfor expansion beyond the semiconductor sector.

Identify Priority Markets: Evaluateindustrial sectors, customer pain points, market attractiveness and competitivegaps to determine where Alpha X should focus its product investments.

Build the Product Portfolio: Define theCompany’s product portfolio, value propositions, target customers, deploymentmodels and differentiation strategy.

Market Validation: Engage customers,commercial teams and industry partners to validate product assumptions beforecommitting significant development resources.

2.Product Roadmap & Commercialisation

Own the Product Roadmap: Translatebusiness strategy into a prioritised product roadmap with clear milestones,investment requirements and commercial outcomes.

Drive Productisation: Convertcustomer-specific solutions and project experience into configurable, reusableand scalable software products.

Balance Standardisation and Customisation: Establishclear principles for standard product features, configurable modules andcustomer-specific development.

Commercial Readiness: Ensure productsare designed for effective implementation, integration, support, maintenance,upgrading and repeatable sales.

3.Technology Strategy & Architecture

Set Technology Direction: Define thetechnology architecture, platforms, engineering standards and developmentprinciples required to support the product strategy.

Industrial Software Architecture: Guidethe development of secure, reliable and interoperable industrial software,including MES, automation, data integration and related manufacturingapplications.

Scalability and Integration: Ensureproducts can integrate with industrial equipment, enterprise systems andcustomer environments while remaining scalable across different sectors andoperating models.

Technology Evaluation: Assess emergingtechnologies pragmatically and adopt them where they create measurable customeror business value.

4.R&D Leadership & Execution

Lead the R&D Function: Provideclear direction to the software development and technical teams, ensuring thatresources are aligned with agreed product priorities.

Execution Accountability: Own productdevelopment delivery, including scope, timeline, technical quality, testing,release readiness and post-launch improvement.

Engineering Excellence: Implementdisciplined development practices covering software design, code quality,DevOps, CI/CD, quality assurance, documentation and technical debt management.

Team Capability: Build the technicalleadership, product thinking and engineering capabilities required for theCompany’s next stage of growth.

5.Customer, Commercial & Stakeholder Partnership

Executive Technical Leadership: Act asthe senior technology and product representative in strategic customerdiscussions, solution positioning and key commercial opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnerclosely with the CEO, Sales, Delivery and other business leaders to alignproduct development with market demand and operational realities.

Customer Feedback Loop: Establish astructured process for converting customer and implementation feedback intoproduct decisions and roadmap priorities.

Business Cases and Investment: Developclear business cases for major product and technology investments, includingexpected market impact, resource requirements, risks and returns.

6.Governance, Risk & Intellectual Property

Technology Governance: Establishgovernance for architecture, software releases, data management, cybersecurity,system reliability and business continuity.

Cybersecurity and Compliance: Ensureproducts meet appropriate security, privacy and industrial customerrequirements.

Intellectual Property: Protect theCompany’s source code, proprietary know-how, product designs and otherintellectual property through appropriate controls and, where relevant, patentor registration strategies.

Budget and Resource Management: Manageproduct and technology budgets, resource allocation, external vendors anddevelopment investments with clear accountability for outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering or arelated discipline. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage but notmandatory.

Leadership Experience: Typically 12–15years of relevant experience, including senior leadership responsibility forproduct, technology, software engineering or R&D in an industrial software,enterprise software, automation or manufacturing technology business.

Product Strategy: Demonstrated successin defining product direction, prioritising markets and translating customerproblems into commercially viable software products.

Productisation: Proven experienceconverting project-based or customer-specific solutions into scalable,repeatable and configurable products.

Technical Depth: Strong understandingof enterprise and industrial software architecture, software developmentlifecycles, systems integration, data platforms, cybersecurity and modernengineering practices.

Industrial Domain: Good understandingof manufacturing operations, MES, factory automation or adjacent industrialtechnology environments.

Commercial Orientation: Ability toevaluate technology decisions through customer value, market potential,implementation practicality and commercial return.

Leadership: Able to set direction, makeclear trade-offs, challenge assumptions and lead technical teams from strategythrough execution.

Preferred Experience

•Experience taking an industrial or enterprise software product from conceptthrough launch, adoption and scale.

•Experience expanding a technology business from one industry vertical intoadjacent industrial sectors.

• Priorexposure to semiconductor manufacturing is advantageous, but broader industrialsoftware and product leadership experience is equally relevant.

•Experience working with enterprise customers in mission-critical manufacturingenvironments.

•Experience leading organisational or business transformation from customisedsolutions toward a product-led model.
