Cloud Project Manager (AWS)

AWS Platform Lead

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Lead to manage the end-to-end onboarding of new AWS accounts and workloads into our AWS Landing Zone environment (built with AWS Control Tower and aligned with CIS and AWS Foundational Security Best Practices). Acting as the main liaison between application, cloud engineering, and security teams, you will ensure all AWS accounts are provisioned, configured, and handed over with compliance, security, and governance in place.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the AWS account onboarding process from intake to production readiness.
• Collaborate with application, business, and infrastructure teams (Cloud Engineering, Security, Networking, DevOps) for smooth onboarding.
• Oversee account creation via AWS Control Tower; enforce baseline controls (GuardDuty, Security Hub, IAM Identity Center, CloudTrail) using Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensure network connectivity (VPC, Transit Gateway) and security restrictions are applied correctly.
• Validate compliance with CIS benchmarks and AWS Foundational Security Best Practices before handover.
• Act as primary point of contact for onboarding queries; provide updates and maintain documentation.
• Drive continuous improvements, automation, and efficiency in onboarding workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT operations, cloud service delivery, or project management (AWS experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, IAM, networking, and security services.
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and security best practices.
• Hands-on exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (or other relevant AWS certifications) is a plus.
