Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize colour formulations using colour theory to achieve precise target shades.
Perform colour matching across different polymer systems (e.g., PC, ABS, PP) while maintaining material properties.
Operate colour spectrophotometer using SCI and SCE methods and interpret colour data (LAB, ΔE).
Prepare clear and professional reports for customer review and internal documentation.
Engage with customers to understand requirements and translate them into formulation solutions.
Source and evaluate alternative raw materials based on cost, availability, and performance.
Operate injection molding machines and extruders to produce test samples and colour plaques.
Optimize processing parameters to ensure colour consistency and troubleshoot defects (e.g., streaking, degradation).
Maintain proper documentation of formulations, trials, and processing conditions.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.
Experience in colour matching, masterbatch, or polymer compounding is preferred.
Hands-on experience with spectrophotometer (SCI/SCE) is required.
Familiarity with injection molding and/or extrusion is strongly preferred.
Basic programming skills (e.g., Python) are a plus
Strong understanding of colour theory and practical matching techniques.
Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders effectively.
