Job Description - Deputy Project Manager / Project Manager (Railway Power Supply System)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Project Manager / Project Manager to support and lead the delivery of railway power supply system projects in Singapore.

This role is suitable for candidates with strong project management experience in railway, infrastructure, or large-scale electrical engineering projects. The successful candidate will be involved in overall project planning, engineering coordination, site execution, stakeholder management, testing and commissioning, and final project delivery.

The position offers the opportunity to take on a key role in major rail infrastructure projects and work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management & Delivery

  • Support and manage the end-to-end delivery of railway power supply system projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements
  • Assist in overall project planning, execution strategy, resource allocation, risk management, and project reporting
  • Manage and monitor project activities across design, engineering coordination, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning, energisation, and handover
  • Track project progress and ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, construction methodologies, and applicable standards
  • Identify project risks, delays, technical issues, and interface challenges, and work with relevant teams to implement mitigation and recovery actions

2. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key coordination point with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, authorities, and internal project teams
  • Coordinate project interfaces across electrical systems, civil works, installation activities, authority requirements, and operational constraints
  • Lead or support project meetings, technical discussions, coordination sessions, and management reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure proper communication and follow-up across all project parties to support smooth execution and timely delivery

3. Planning, Monitoring & Control

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, work sequencing strategies, and delivery programmes
  • Review project performance against timelines and milestones, and provide timely updates to management
  • Support site progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination to ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Maintain proper project records, reports, trackers, and documentation for ongoing monitoring and control

4. Testing, Commissioning & Commercial Awareness

  • Support and lead key project milestones including testing, commissioning, energisation, system coordination, and final acceptance
  • Work closely with relevant teams to ensure successful completion of testing and handover activities
  • Monitor project cost implications, variation matters, procurement coordination, and commercial issues together with the relevant commercial and project teams
  • Support overall project delivery with good awareness of contractual obligations, budget control, and risk management

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant experience in a Deputy Project Manager, Project Manager, or similar project delivery role within railway, transportation, infrastructure, or large-scale electrical engineering projects
  • Strong technical understanding of Low Voltage (LV) and/or High Voltage (HV) systems
  • Familiarity with Electrical Services (ES) will be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of project planning, construction management, engineering coordination, testing and commissioning, and delivery control
  • Experience in coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders
  • Good commercial awareness with exposure to cost control, progress monitoring, variation matters, and project risk management
  • Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven project environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in railway power supply systems, rail electrification, traction power, power distribution, or related railway electrical systems
  • Familiarity with metro / MRT or public infrastructure project environments in Singapore
  • Experience in authority coordination, technical submissions, and stakeholder engagement in regulated project settings
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning stages
